Common use

FBD tablets is an antiparasitic medicine used for the treatment and control of worm infections in animals. It works against a wide range of internal parasites, including roundworms, hookworms, whipworms, tapeworms, and lungworms, in species such as dogs, cats, horses, cattle, sheep, goats, and pigs.

Dosage and direction

FBD tablets is generally administered by mouth, usually mixed with food. The dose and duration will depend on the animal species and the type of parasite being treated. Keep up with your veterinarian’s deworming schedule, and follow proper hygiene practices to prevent reinfection.

Precautions

This medicine is considered safe for use during pregnancy and lactation. When used in food-producing animals, follow your veterinarian’s guidance on withdrawal periods for meat, milk, or eggs to avoid drug residues in food. Do not use this medicine within 14 days of liver fluke treatment.

Contraindications

Do not use FBD tablets in animals that are allergic to Fenbendazole or any ingredients in the product. It should not be given to sick or severely weak animals until the illness is treated. Avoid combining this medicine with bromsalan flukicides, as this can cause serious effects like abortion in cattle or death in sheep.

Possible side effect

At normal doses, FBD tablets is well-tolerated and does not usually cause any common side effects. However, in some animals, it may cause mild and temporary side effects such as vomiting, drooling, diarrhea, or decreased appetite. If the animals experience any side effects that persist or worsen, stop the treatment and consult your veterinarian immediately.

Drug interaction

Tell your veterinarian about any other medications, supplements, or treatments your animal is receiving. The use of FBD tablets should be avoided in conjunction with bromsalan flukicides, as this combination has been associated with adverse effects in cattle and sheep.

Missed dose

Give the medicine as soon as you can, but skip the missed dose if it is almost time for your next dose. Do not give two doses at one time.

Overdose

Seek your veterinarian for emergency medical attention.
