Common use
Ichmune C capsules is a medicine used to treat atopic dermatitis (a chronic skin allergy) in dogs. It may also be used to help manage perianal fistula, a painful condition causing inflammation and ulcers around the anus in dogs. In cats, it is used to treat chronic allergic dermatitis.
Dosage and direction
Ichmune C capsules should be given exactly as prescribed by your veterinarian. The dose and duration of the treatment may depend on your pet’s body weight or the severity of the condition. Once the condition improves, your veterinarian may reduce the frequency to every other day or a few times per week to maintain control. It should be given at least 2 hours before or after food, as food can affect absorption. For best results, follow your veterinarian’s advice on flea control, skin care, and nutrition.
Precautions
Ichmune C use requires significant precautions and strict veterinary supervision due to the nature of the active ingredient. Use with caution in animals with severe kidney or liver impairment, and regular monitoring of these functions is recommended during treatment.
Contraindications
Ichmune C capsules should not be used in dogs under 6 months of age, those weighing less than 2 kg, or in pets with cancer or known hypersensitivity to cyclosporine. It should also not be given to cats infected with Feline Leukemia Virus (FeLV) or Feline Immunodeficiency Virus (FIV). Avoid use in pregnant or lactating animals and in those with diabetes. Do not vaccinate your pet with live vaccines during or shortly after treatment.
Possible side effect
The most common side effects are vomiting, soft stools, or diarrhea, which are usually mild and temporary. If your pet shows signs of persistent vomiting, weight loss, unusual tiredness, or signs of infection (such as fever or swollen lymph nodes), contact your veterinarian immediately.
Drug interaction
Let your veterinarian know about all the other medicines your pet is on, as some medicines can interact with Ichmune C.
Missed dose
Give the medicine as soon as you can, but skip the missed dose if it is almost time for your next dose. Do not give two doses at one time.
Overdose
Seek your veterinarian for emergency medical attention.
Storage
Store at room temperature away from moisture and heat. Keep out of reach of the children and pets.
