Common use

Lamisil Cream is used to treat superficial fungal infections of the skin, including tinea pedis (athlete's foot), tinea cruris (jock itch), tinea corporis (ringworm), and pityriasis versicolor, a condition causing skin discoloration. As an allylamine antifungal, it effectively stops fungal growth and also treats nail infections.

Dosage and direction

To use Lamisil Cream correctly, follow these instructions: Ensure the affected skin area is clean and dry before applying the cream. Apply a thin layer of Lamisil Cream to the infected area and its surroundings. Gently rub the cream into your skin until it's fully absorbed. After application, wash your hands thoroughly unless they're the area being treated. Avoid covering or bandaging the treated area unless your doctor advises otherwise. Be careful not to get the cream in your eyes, nose, mouth, or mucous membranes. If this happens, rinse thoroughly with water.

Precautions

Skin Conditions: If you suffer from a skin condition that causes broken or irritated skin, applying Lamisil Cream may exacerbate your condition. This is because it should not be applied to open wounds or irritated skin.
Caution is advised while using Lamisil Cream if you are pregnant or if you are breastfeeding. It is best to consult your doctor before using this medicine.

Contraindications

Lamisil Cream is contraindicated in patients with a history of hypersensitivity to Terbinafine. It is also contraindicated in patients with facial rashes, psoriasis, liver disease, kidney disease, joint pain, muscle disorder, cutaneous and systemic lupus erythematosus.

Possible side effect

While using Lamisil Cream, you may experience the following side effects: Mild burning at the application site; Stinging or itching on the treated skin; Redness or irritation of the treated area; Dry skin (This refers to a condition where your skin lacks enough moisture and can feel rough and flaky); Flaky skin (This is when patches of your skin start peeling off, often as small, thin layers).

Drug interaction

Please note that when applied topically as a cream, Lamisil Cream is not known to interact with other medications. However, always inform your doctor about all the medicines, supplements, and herbal products you use before starting treatment with Lamisil Cream.

Missed dose

In case you forget to apply Lamisil Cream at the scheduled time, do so as soon as you remember. If it's close to the time for your next application, skip the missed dose and continue with your regular application schedule. Do not apply extra cream to make up for the missed application.

Overdose

If you accidentally apply too much Lamisil Cream, you may experience mild symptoms such as skin redness or irritation. Rinse the area with cool water, and if symptoms persist or worsen, inform your doctor.

Storage

Store Lamisil Cream at room temperature. Keep the cream in a dry place, away from direct heat and light. Ensure the lid is tightly closed after each use to prevent air exposure. Always keep Lamisil Cream out of reach of children.
