Common use
Novamox capsule is used to treat bacterial infections. It contains amoxicillin, an antibiotic that works by stopping the growth of bacteria. It is commonly used for respiratory infections, urinary tract infections, and skin infections, among others. This medicine belongs to a category of medications known as antibiotics, specifically, the beta-lactam antibiotics. Novamox capsule is also used to treat typhoid fever.
Dosage and direction
Swallow the capsule whole with a full glass of water. You can take this medicine with or without food. Do not chew, break, or open the capsule.
Precautions

Drug interaction
Medications like probenecid increases the blood concentration of amoxicillin, thereby enhancing its effect. Oral contraceptives like levonorgestrel or ethinylestradiol, when used alongside Novamox capsule may have reduced effects. Anticoagulants like warfarin may interact with Novamox capsule, potentially increasing the risk of bleeding.
Missed dose
If you've missed a dose of Novamox capsule, take it as soon as you remember. But if it's nearly time for your next dose, skip the missed one and continue with your usual dosing schedule. Never take an extra dose without consulting your doctor.
Overdose
If in any case, you accidentally take more than the recommended dose of Novamox capsule, you may experience overdose symptoms like nausea, vomiting, and diarrhea. In such instances, it's important to inform your doctor to avoid any further complications.
Storage
Store Novamox capsule in a dry, cool place, away from direct sunlight. Avoid exposing the medicine to air and moisture. Keep it out of reach and sight of children.
