Common use

Safeheart Soft chewable tablets is a medicine used in dogs for the management of congestive heart failure. It helps the heart pump blood more effectively and reduces strain on the heart. This improves blood circulation, reduces fluid buildup in the lungs, and eases symptoms like coughing, fatigue, and difficulty breathing.

Dosage and direction

Give Safeheart Soft in the exact dose and duration prescribed by your veterinarian. It can be given directly or mixed with food. Follow all your veterinarian’s dosing instructions carefully and do not skip doses. Continue the treatment even if your dog seems better, as heart failure requires long-term management.

Precautions

Safeheart Soft chewable tablets is only meant for use in dogs with diagnosed heart failure and should not be used in dogs with other heart conditions. It is not recommended for dogs younger than six months, pregnant, or nursing animals.

Contraindications

Safeheart Soft (Pimobendan) is contraindicated (should not be used) in dogs with hypertrophic cardiomyopathy, aortic stenosis, severe liver disease, or known hypersensitivity to pimobendan, and with caution in very young puppies, pregnant/nursing dogs, or those with diabetes, requiring veterinary diagnosis and supervision for safe use in congestive heart failure.

Possible side effect

Common side effects of this medicine include loss of appetite, tiredness, diarrhea, weakness, and difficulty breathing. If your dog shows severe symptoms such as collapse, persistent vomiting, or trouble breathing, contact your veterinarian immediately. Monitor regularly to help manage these effects and ensure treatment remains safe and effective.

Drug interaction

Safeheart Soft chewable tablets can be safely used along with other medications commonly prescribed for heart failure. However, always inform your veterinarian about all medicines your pet is taking.

Missed dose

Give the medicine as soon as you can, but skip the missed dose if it is almost time for your next dose. Do not give two doses at one time.

Overdose

Seek your veterinarian for emergency medical attention.

Storage

Store at room temperature away from moisture and heat. Keep out of reach of the children and pets.
